I honestly thought she wasn't anything special. She was very normal but I do agree that she should've been placed in top 12.

I think San Francisco lost out on height. Her face was also a little chubby, not very balanced? But, overall, deserving of top 12 imo.
Melbourne was also robbed big time..... IMO, she gave the best interview... Was she prettier, I'm sure she will be in top 6... She has a great figure too.

I didn't watch the entire pageant, just mainly the parts when Kuala Lumpur, Toronto and Vancouver performed...and here are my thoughts:
I really disliked how Kuala Lumpur spoke during her QA segments. She was ridiculously loud, overly aggressive and highly manipulative every time she spoke. I'm not sure how many of you guys are MCI followers but Belle reminds me of MCI 2006 2nd runner up Anabelle Kong (who was also from Kuala Lumpur), they both seem to be trained in the same way from their local pageants. I agree she answered all her questions fully and confidently but she was definitely lacking elegance when she conversed and was not genuine with her answers either (e.g. I really hated how she used her "unfortunate upbringing without her parents" kind of thing in her QA segment to get sympathy from the judges).
Toronto was a big let down that night. She must have been really nervous...her smiles seem really forced. I'm sure she'll do really well in the Hong Kong entertainment industry though.
I am really proud that Vancouver has took the crown once again, but I do agree with all of you that her performance was not the best, in fact, it was very average and she did get by with her looks up until the last segment where she had to make her last speech. I must say that her speech was very moving and it came off very genuine to me. You guys might feel that her speech was manipulative (since she got all teary eyed and stuff) but because I have watched her performance in her local pageant and her respective interviews, I do feel she has improved heaps since last year. I think Eliza is an inspirational winner for other girls out there with a language barrier.

I really disliked how winner spoke during her QA segments. she is trying to use english, if you dont know mandarin or cantonese, dont use english, trying to show that she cannot speak cantonesis and
trying to cry in her last segment to get sympathy from the judges.

Way to be original theboynextdoor. Seems like you're either anti-Vancouver or a die-hard Kuala Lumpur pageant fan. Anyways, it makes no sense when you say Eliza shouldn't use English if she doesn't know how to speak Chinese. What do you suggest she use to converse then?

After watching the pageant, I'm actually kind of surprised that Vancouver won. While she is beautiful and very elegant, her Q&A segment was really weak. I'm not hating on Vancouver, but these are just the things that I speculated. She actually made no sense with her answer and the MC Carol Cheng had to jump in and help her. She did however, save her answer in the end by saying that she would use a fish in replacement of a bat. The whole fish idea is not entirely original as there are painted fishes around Vancouver sewers to remind us to be eco-friendly. Her last speech was very heart-felt. I agree with girlnextdoor that Eliza has improved a lot since her win last year. Come on, give the girl some credit. She fought ridicules from her peers and others around her and fulfilled her dream. For those of you who are ranting about the contestants using their sob stories and tears to win over the judges, would you have rather that they gave superficial answers? I think bringing their own experiences and emotions into their answers make their responses more personal and real as opposed to a "world peace" type of answer.
I actually thought New York had a good interview. I was hoping she would make it. I really liked Amsterdam but she didn't really shine.

#13 IS NOT CHUBBY. don't you know when they say in pictures + media you are 10 pounds heavier! cause 13 is super skinny. in fact the one of the most prettiest! and in real life she is skinny and hot. maybe she's not as tall but who cares, you seriously don't need to be tall.! because the picture she had with Sonija they are the SAME HEIGHT!!

MUSIC HELP Can anybody tell me the song names and music titles for the pageant? I only know the song sang by Coco Lee during #7-12's MV. How about the other parts? #1-6? #13-18?? And the music played during the intros (4 types). If anybody knows, please tell me. THANKS.

Eliza in the end looked pretty when giving up her title. She was also the female lead in Raymond Lam's MV, so I guess she was what TVB was looking for.

Eliza in the end looked pretty when giving up her title. She was also the female lead in Raymond Lam's MV, so I guess she was what TVB was looking for. I found this forum after doing some research on Eliza, I discovered her after her being featured on TVB entertainment. Overall, she seem like a very kind and lovely individual, different from most HK celebrities, very well crowned! I am not into beauty pageant but Eliza stands out in HK and am very proud for her hard work. And why the arguments on #13? She didn't catch my eye from the very begining. On other forums, I thought the winner Cindy Wu was going to represent San Francisco? Maybe she rejected but I would of loved to see her! I agree with you MCI FAN, Eliza is whats what TVB was looking for!

Re Fanny: Alt. #13 didn't look that pretty, she nevertheless performed better than some of the top 12, e.g. #16, #11.. She had good Cantonese, danced well in the segments, and didn't look that ugly (she had some decent beauty). I thought she should of advanced, just my opinion..
As for Eliza, I did rewatch the pageants many times after 2 years have passed (seems like yesterday!!!) and I have a change of views now. She may not have answered the best nor had the best Cantonese but she did looked beautiful that night and shined. Many like her over Rebecca Zhu but sometimes I think RZ looks prettier but sometimes Eliza looks better......... hard to debate on that (getting a little offtopic now) but will see how Eliza will do in TVB (her acting will definitely need more time though).

But of course, the top 6 were well composed too, I would have replaced #5 with #2 and made room for #13 somewhere in the top 12 (probably #16 replaced) but other than that, the top 3 were good (alt. #18 bombed her interview and #7 lacked some facial beauty).
