that's not Fala.. just because on friendster her name is Fala doesn't mean they are the same person. that girl's profile says she's from sinapore. whereas Fala Chen is from New York (or Hong Kong is she choose to put that) thanx Sandy, the myth is now solved, that she's not the same fala, although her nose looks almost identical with the 24 years old Fala Chen, this Singapore Fala is only 21. here is the singapore sandy's friendster profile: www.friendster.com/user.php?uid=3579590

Somebody said in a previous post that they think Lora looks "leung". I'm not entirely sure as to what other people define "leung". If by "leung", people are referring to the fact that she has a very traditional mainlander air to her looks, then I'm sorry to say that I will have to agree. That is not to say that she isn't pretty though. She will probably do very well in the China entertainment business but her look would not work for HK.
In regards to the comparison between Lora, Fala and Leanne, I'd say Fala and Leanne's beauty far surpasses Lora's.

Although HK has been kind of the Hollywood of the East so far, but since China's recent modernization and economic growth and boom, and the average wealth of city folks are high, China's entertainment industry are no longer something to sneeze at, their variety in entertainment programming are very diversified, and their quality are getting increasingly higher, more refined and "westernized" (or less "leung"), LOL! With China's normally large national ego, who know if the government will pour money into that sector, and make sure all their export TV series or movies and films, or singing and dance, will rival those of the quality of Korea someday!? China have already shown that in sports, in the kind of athlete they turned out over the years in all areas...
Increasing, the number and variety of shows coming out of China's TV broadcasting are rivaling those of HK, Taiwan, and the rest of the world. The shows's hosts are all stunningly beautiful people, and the movie stars are also beautiful. After all, the producer have 1 billion plus of people to choose from, compared to HK...
Even TVB is trying hard to capture the massive Chinese audience by being competitive, and many HK stars are traveling or commuting between China and HK in an attempt to promote themselves, and to increase their worth in the "Mainland China" market, which is where the action will be at, if not starting already.
Of course being beautiful and popular is a great start to get in the biz easier, but not all talented stars have their start from winning a pageant. Some stumble into it, some discovered, some work their way into the industry and become great after 15 to 20 years of hard work, like Gigi Lai.
So, how much is beauty worth? and will that guarantee success for Leanne Li and Fala Chen? Popularity sure helps, but if they sucked in the talent department, like can't sing, act, or dance, then at most they would become cover girls in magazines, or become spokesperson for some cause or organizations, or appear as trophy dates in functions they attend with some executives.
On the other hand, with hard work, talent and perseverance, who knows if Lora Sun will carve her way into Entertainment Biz, and possibly become a somebody, albeit thru the MUCH harder way then Fala and Leanne, or Linda Chung, and Bernice (very talented). After all, HK is no longer the only market where future stars will be made, although being a star in HK is certainly less competitive than trying to make it as a star in China, where one will be competing against a lot more peers in that industry.

Okay, I formally apologize to Lora and all her supporters on behalf of both myself and my cousin (we both go by the name "Lala" on this forum"), for all mean and *low* comments we have said. Although we are just expressing our opinions of this contestant, we got a little carried away. (perhaps because we both read the article in the Vancouver Sun.. the way the magazine seems to degrade Crystal and promote Lora really infuriated us.) and we got sort of defensive of Crystal since we both think she is very beautiful both inside and outside, and *although msot people think Lora is very pretty, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we must disagree* So we formally apologize to everyone because LOL our grade 9 exams are coming up and we have no time to think of some more *low blows* to attack her with *haha jkjk*

hey lovely, i don't think anyone except you can see the links you sent, those look like internal and secure links from the yahoo file system, only the specific registered member (you) can access those. i am also a registered yahoo! user, and i can not get to those... all i get is "The page cannot be displayed" errors, over and over. why don't u upload it to ImageShack (Free Images Hosting) first before posting, like everyone else here have been doing... just a suggestion, otherwise you may not get any comments cuz no one can see them! www.imageshack.us/note: u might have to save the images from your yahoo breifcase, photo album or whatever to your local harddrive first, before u can upload it properly to ImageShack.

okay, I can confirm that the pics that Lovely have posted are all from the 2005 MCI "backstage"... In this photo above, from left to right: #12 Lena Ma (Toronto), #10 Fala Chen (New York), #4 Lisa Wang (Chicago) Source: tvcity.tvb.com/special/mcip2005/profile/index.htmlIn this photo above, #12 Lena Ma (Toronto) with #15 Leanne Li (Vancouver) In this photo above, #10 Fala Chen (New York) with Leanne Li (Vancouver) - Fala does have some light makeup on... and you actually CAN recognize her here as the Fala Chen you know from regular press photos. So Yes, this pic above IS Fala Chen ... (Uuk!) she got "bags" under her eyes, or panda eyes... and her last name "Chen" is shown on her name tag - not to comment on those lines on her face when she makes that not recommended for camera kind of smile. Basically, she is really FAR OFF from her STAR look that most people known her to appear as in public press photos or studio shots. You don't want to hear my comment about this Fala Chen photo... This photo of Fala is CUTE or playful, but if I bump into this Fala in the mall, I would have no idea she is anybody special to start with, or that she is Fala Chen... As for Leanne Li, I think her basic features are SO SHARP and DEFINED, that it does not matter whether she has makeup on, or try to make herself look like someone else, she would have a hard time doing so, one will always recognize her instantly... the paparazzi would catch on to Leanne Li even if she try to put on disguise, hehe... So now you all know, some girls face have good basic symmetrical facial features that trained eyes and agents can tell that they have beauty potential when being properly * packaged *, if their figure is already decent. So, depending on the girl and how sharp their BASE features are, the difference between their NO MAKEUP look and Packaged Look could be far apart, yet they can still have a brilliant career in modelling or entertaiment biz. Of course, beautiful face + decent figure is only the beginning, attitude, personality, their voice, skills and talents, and other abilitities will determine if a girl will make it as a popular personality, if not a success in the industry they are trying to get in. For a while, I was worrying about the shyness of Leanne Li, and the high pitch voice of Linda Chung... but I guess with their own determinations, and the magical training by TVB, they subjected themselves to TVB transformation or repackaging of themselves, and those issues became no longer of any concern. Also, I think Bernice is a bit too "Manly" or "tough" sometimes, to ask Bernice to play the shy, coy, or deeply emotional girl could be a stretch sometimes, unless she keep working at it..., which I am sure she will be able to do well or reasonable one day. For now, I think highly dramatic roles with deep character development will be out of Bernice's reach, she will be relegated mostly to either cute, comedical or high energy and action type roles. Any pics of Bernice without makeup? hehe...
