Couldn't recognize Fala from those pictures. It's not her facial features, it's her portrayal of her behaviours.

Great Find, Ang! The "Scary Faces" meter is hilarious! LMAOROTF!!!! ;D Sounds like that tabloit newspaper think Gigi Lai and Linda Chung are HOT, with or without makeup! LOL! Bernice got 2 Scary Faces from that paper's review with no makeup... but I think she does not look too far off... Jessica Hsuan and Ada are also not looking bad without makeup... The heading comments that paper make is either frightening or hilarious... guess being a public personality, u can not let ur guard down for even a sec!  |

i do think lora is pretty but i agree w/ the "leung" factor that some people discussed earlier... when me and my mom first saw her on mcv we both thought that she had the best package out of all the contestants last year, and she is definately above average looking... but her face is kind of flat and her nose is not high enough, which makes her look a bit "leung"... i think leanne is a little bit better looking than her, and so is fala, but she really isn't bad either. i go to ubc as well and i saw her two times on campus, the most striking to me wasn't her face but her figure. she's got perfect figure! very long legs and a thin body but yet she's got pretty big boobs...

wow lora looks quite pretty in that pic...a lot taller than the other girl....and i do agree with coconut cuz i saw leanne on tv and in a magazine and she definately has a great figure...out of fala and lora shes the best ;D

I don't find Lora to be an ugly girl. She has a decent face, at least she is pleasant to look at... but to me in some of her pictures, and after seeing her in person at Aberdeen. To me she gives off this "mainlander look" .... I don't know how to explain it...

i saw lora when she was in the oriental girl pageant......
she is really tall..
and she tries really hard.. i remember she was dancing.. and the stage looked like it was going to fall..

she's not ugly. She's actually sort of pretty. But very inconsistant with her photos. for example: she can look stunningly pretty in one shot (no mainlander feel IMO):  and really leug in another:   |

What exactly is "leung"? And it's kind of lame to distinguish Mainlander vs. HK girl--have you ever considered the fact that HK is a part of China? Guess that didn't flow to your mind now did it? Funny how dense people are. Do you even know where your own roots lie?
I could say the same about some HK girls looking catty, but unlike certain people, there is no need to sink so low now, is there?

Leung is basically not having enough elegance or sophisticated aura if you will. or some people perceive it as having the look of a traditional chinese person and not being modern enough.
HK people are really into the whole "not looking like a mainlander" thing.. not to be ignorant (YES. i KNOW hong kong is part of china) but its a fact that some /most HK/Taiwan people consider themselves more "high classed". This is mainly because although some Mainlanders are very well educated and sophisticated.. there are a large number that did not receive education and behave in ways that are considered rude (such as spitting on the ground, peeing on the street.) therefore, HK people established this stereotype of the mainlander... and hope to distance themselves from that image.
In the case of Lora.. I've heard people say that one of the reasons she didn't win was because of the fact that she looks "too traditionally chinese" with no modern flare that HK people like (this IS a TVB actress recruiting event.. so obviously they have to choose a winner which they think TVB will like) . For example, Leanne Li was from Shang Hai.. also a "mainlander" but she looks stylish and modern, as with Fala Chen.
