is it just me or is johannesburg getting attention because of her sister :S
vancouver has the potential, i really don't think she's doing her best. i like sydney and hk has a chance of getting the crown this year too.

So what are the criteria of being a Chinese descendent for the MCI pageant?

What happened to Malaysia? She is not in the photos from the press conference....
I agree with Charxyeung. I think that Johannesburgh is definitely getting attention because of her sister Ina. I think that Ina is gorgeous, but Ivy is only ordinary. (just my opinion)

she is there, but it's Kuala Lumpur instead of Malaysia.

I'm so glad everyone is hyped about this competition! Here are my favorites are:
#9 New York- Sirena has a great figure, good height, and a beautiful smile. I think she has a big possible chance in following the footsteps of Fala Chen. #12 Sydney- Sarah has a very pretty face and a set of alluring eyes. Her height might be a disadvantage though. Nonetheless, she looks very sweet in her pictures. #13 Calgary- She doesn't have the classy winner's look but she is definitely attractive. She looks confident and sexy. #20-Johannesburgh- Even though Ivy might be getting a bit more attention b/c of her sister's status, I think this girl has all the potential to make it to top 5. She's quite pretty and innocent-looking. I'm not sure about you guys, but she looks a lot like Miss Vancouver Susana. #14 Vancouver-Of course with my above statement...I must list Vancouver as my favorite as well. For some reason, she didn't seem to have looked her best in the First Official Press conference. Hopefully, there will be better pictures of her. #2- Hailing from HK, she is already a favorite to many. She is pretty and has a sweet smile. I don't think she'll take the crown this year though.
Also, Nanning is one my favorites even though I haven't seen that many pictures of her. I wonder what is going on with her visa. It'll be great to have her join the other contestants. She might possibly be one of the strongest girl in the batch. It's funny how this scenario reminds me so much of last year's case with Miss Montreal Vicki Ng-Wan.

Thank you Smileygrl728 for clearing it up that Malaysia is in fact Kuala Lumpur.
I agree with you Nycxgrl that Nanning could be a very strong contender for the crown. She is veeeery beautiful and besides, she is the "Elbow Queen" (lol) so she is definitely competitive also.

i was a bit suprised to hear the "elbow queen" won lol.
i was afraid you guys would bash me because i said johannesburg was getting attention because of ina lu. i think ina is prettier too. johannesburg isn't bad but seriously if ina didn't win or compete last year she wouldn't get as much attention as she would now.
p.s i'd like to be known as charmaine, but i know there is another charmaine out there

haha, the "elbow queen". but if she is going to be in the pageant, I wouldn't exactly want her to win, she seems a bit "too" competitive. lol. After seeing the first official pic, which is New York, she seems like the one to beat, and she also has the MCI "winner" look. But I still have to wait till all the official pics come out and see what happens.

Lots of supporters for New York! Sirena is well prepared to compete. She has a big chance in following Fala Chen's footsteps.

wow, mucho thanks !!! ;D and their hairstyles look much better in the official pics than the press conference. I don't know what they did to Aimee's hairstyle during the press conference, but it made her look much older, no offense.

Just from the photos... I love New York~ rooting for her! Hong Kong and Toronto has the potential to make top 5.
Personally i would love for Vancouver to take the crown! =) but then she has some strong competition this year!
I love the offical portraits this year.. just looking from 1-10, all of them look stunning!

OMG, they look like professional models! Fantastic photos! They all look like winners. On the other hand, I agree with you gals regarding Nanning. I don't want to see her take the crown (or top 3) because she was a bit too pushy with her elbows for my liking. That kind of behavior should not be rewarded. Competitive is okay but not being "b-tchy".
