1996 MHK did not manage to get top 5, but Miss Friendship is MHK
1997 MHK is 2nd runner up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
1998 MHK is top 5(sensitive issue because Yung Ka Sui is one¡¦s wife)
1999 MHK is 2nd runner up , But Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2000 MHK is winner, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2001 MHK is 2nd runner-up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2002 MHK get top 5 only, but HAVE another award Miss Modern China
2003 MHK is 1st runner-up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2004 MHK is 1st runner ¡Vup and also Miss Friendship ( the most greedy)

An additional award is made for MHK in case MHK didn¡¦t get top 3. Just so simple answer for it.
MHK will definitely top 5, without any worries.
Thus,

Christine looks lovely collecting her award!
I think that it's likely that Cici will get the Miss Friendship. She seems so friendly and cheerful. In one of the articles, #7 Hangzhou (the one that's hearing impaired) says that Vancouver is already her best friend!

Aime, actually 1993 was the first year HK had a top 10.... and Miss Mok Ho Yan made the top 10.

I remember reading an article stating that #7 was in the same pageant as Cici in 2003. I think it was the Miss Shanghai pageant, since Cici won it in 2003. Oh no... aime is at it again... |

I think Louisa will do well, too. But there are several other contestants with past pageant experiences. Seattle was Miss Chinese Seattle 1st RU and the reigning Miss Chinatown USA. Vancouver was also Miss Shanghai a few years back. Chicago has a history of pageant titles under her belt. New York is super confident and gorgeous. BTW, does anyone else think she looks like Yvonne Chapman (Miss Chinese Calgary 2007(?)? I don't know much about the contestants, but including Toronto, that's already a handful of tough competition. This will be a tough year! Hahaha madeinhk, thank YOU for providing that site too! Hahaha, and I should say, thank you to everyone for either providing more news/pictures or just participating in the discussion... If –|·½ïL²É´óʹª„ is called the Miss Oriental Charm Ambassador award (from piggysnout135 above), then ¹ú¼Ê·ç²É´óʹ should be called Miss International Charm Ambassador award? Wow, I also can't believe the Canadian girls bagged both awards! I'm rooting for them all the way! I think Cici is very likely to get the Friendship award (since she also won Miss Friendship in MCV). Also, Louis Liu should do quite well in the pageant too, since she's the reigning champian of Miss Asian America! Oh and here's the official site for the contestants from China. And to add to the list of previous pageant experiences, Louisa Liu was also the 2nd princess in the 2007 Miss Chinatown USA (in addition to winning Miss Asian America). Grace Wong (MHK08 1st runner up) was the 1st princess the same year.  Wow... this year has such high quality girls! Tough competition... it all boils down to the final night! Are the girls only judged by their performance on the final night, or are they also judged before that? |
