I hope that the Miss Chinese International Pageant 2007 that will be held in by TVB (Hong Kong) on 20th January will be fair pageants.
Although the pageant is organized by TVB Hong Kong, I do hope that the attention is not given to Miss Hong Kong (contester number 2). Other pageants also have a chance.
Hope that the International Pageant is fair as we can promote Chinese Pageants to the world...have a fair pageants 2007 in Hong Kong organized by TVB.... not just give priority to Miss Hong Kong.
Promote Chinese Beauty to the World!!!

Don't worry. Tracy Ip's fate in last year's MCI shows that TVB would not help Miss Hong Kong (or at least "would not help too much"), although it is reasonable that Miss Hong Kong, as the host delegate, does enjoy certain advantages over the other girls, like media coverage (the press knows her better than other girls) and she needs not adjust to any time difference or diet change, etc. etc. This happens to the host delegates of all international pageants, not just MCI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the pageant held somewhere else in China this year? If anything, then the contestants from China will have more preferential treatment. Porntip is absolutely correct in indicating that all host delegates receive a little more attention than other contestants simply because the local media is more familiar with them.
*sigh*...what's with all this negativity towards Aimee? I wouldn't be surprised if she wins MCI, not because she's Miss HK but because I think she has the beauty, intelligence and elegance of a winner.

One or two bad apples almost spoil the whole basket of fruits, my interest of posting and reading drops recently because of the vicious attack shown by some members in this forum. Thanks for porntip, chatterbox and pagfollower to write something sensible with depth. Without them I thought I were visiting the New York slum indeed.

Yes I agree with Porntip, host delegates did have more attention in any pageants. And since TVB organizes the pageant, produces MSHK and is one of Chinese's biggest television networks, MSHK has a advantage. I also think that Miss Hong Kongs are usually very beautiful, so it's not a surprise if they're hot favorites. Maybe an exception with Miss Mok Hoi Yan. Also, come to think of it, many other pageants are like MCI. Miss Universe (produced by MUO in NYC) has many semifinalists for Miss USA. Same as Miss International and Miss Earth(no Miss Philippines has ever been unplaced).

I always think TVB is quite fair in treating different delegates as an organizer of an international pageant in comparison with other organizations, say MU, which often gives Miss USA advancing to the Top 10 of the competition.

Even though the pageant is held by TVB, it doesn't mean Ms HK will win or get preferential treatment. In fact, if you look at the past winners, the majority of the winners weren't from HK, but a fair share of winners elsewhere. Those that won it for HK previously are far better than Aimee (IMHO) - looks and talent wise, and most of them became stars. Aimee looks rather a low-key figure as there are not much news about her since she won Ms HK (in fact, I was surprised she did) - I gusss that's because her talents surpassed her looks. Anyway, I believe TVB is fair. And not just because its from HK, Ms HK has to be selected. TVb could, but heard that there are some quite outstanding girls to slug in out with Ms HK for the top 5.

Miss Hong Kong sure win!!! Why? Because: 1. held in Hong Kong 2. Held by TVB 3. Speak cantonese 4. based on past year, every year also win .......lots more....internet ppl Ask a question, why when during TVB send 1st runner up of Miss Hong Kong to Miss World, did not win? (based on past year title) and also 2nd runner up to Miss International also lose up? BECAUSE IS NOT ORGANISE BY TVB........simple answer.

woah, TVB doesn't exactly help Miss Hong Kong, cause they haven't had a winner since 2000, i think. so, TVB actually made this fair, right?

Based on the result above, as can see very year MHK sure get something back,.
SO this year, since MISS NEW YORK WINS AUDIENCE FAVOURITE AWARD, which is not MHK,
Then TVB is helping MHK to get MCI winner+ 1st runner up+ 2nd rnner up + Miss Friendship

you seem to really dislike Miss Hong Kong, she can't help it if TVB is helping her or not, because the competition is created by TVB, so I think we should be fair to Miss Hong Kong too. but remember, it all depends on her performance on the night of the competition, so we will just have to wait and see. : D

it all depand on her performance on that night!!! true, but with TVB help, he can easily win!!!!
No doubt, like last year, Eric Tsiang keep on helping MHK in saying "local own people" sure better!!!!!!!!!!
Pls make a fair pageant competition
