Excuse me, I would hardly consider those overly impressive stats. I actually think that shows that HK has been given a fair shot in the pageant. But obviously, you wouldn't see that because you're so narrow-minded and abnormally obsessed with ragging on HK.

Are you sure is fair shot in pageant?
1995 Halina TAM Siu-Wan get top5, but Miss Freindship is NOT HK
1996 MHK did not manage to get top 5, but Miss Freindship is MHK
1997 MHK is 2nd runner up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
1998 MHK is top 5(sensitive isuue because Yung Ka Sui is one’s wife)
1999 MHK is 2nd runner up , But Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2000 MHK is winner, but Miss Freindship is NOT MHK
2001 MHK is 2nd runner-up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2002 MHK get top 5 only, but HAVE another award Miss Modern China
2003 MHK is 1st runner-up, but Miss Friendship is NOT MHK
2004 MHK is 1st runner –up and also Miss Freindship ( the most greedy)
2005 MHK is didn’t get top 3, but MUST be top 5 and additional award(Goreous)
2006 MHK didn’t get top 5, but get an additional award(Cermanic Culture Ambassador Awards)
2007 MHK winner + 1st runner up+ 2nd rnner up + Miss Friendship

is there a problem with MHK every year being a frontrunner for MCI? TVB just chooses a STRONG REPRESENTATIVE in the first place.

the problem is : NOT FAIR
I hope that the Miss Chinese International Pageant 2007 that will be held in Fushan 20th January will be fair pageants.
Although the pageant is organized by TVB Hong Kong, I do hope that the attention is not given to Miss Hong Kong (contester number 2). Other pageants also have a chance.
Hope that the International Pageant is fair as we can promote Chinese Pageants to the world...have a fair pageants 2007 in Hong Kong organized by TVB.... not just give priority to Miss Hong Kong.
Promote Chinese Beauty to the World!!!

and how is that not fair? are you saying that strong contenders for MCI crown are not allowed to be from HK in order for it to be fair?? even though more attention is given to MHK from the press, but that's because she's someone the media is MORE familiar with. and that is not always an advantage because all aimee's actions are closely observed and exaggerated which in turns places more pressure on her. If you're saying how MHK are given special provisions, why don't u look at vancouver??? they've won so many times. In 2000 - 1st runner up, 2001 - winner, 2002 - winner, 2004- winner, 2005 - winner, 2006 - top 5. One must admit that contestants from vancouver, hong kong, KL have always been strong every year and it is NORMAL to give extra attention to those that stand out. everyone gets a fair go - it just depends on how they present themselves.

omg mcimci HK and china representatives are bound to have stronger reps anyway because there's more CHINESE PEOPLE in the first place to choose from. Like from all the european and non asian countries like new york, toronto, vancover (not saying they dont have strong reps because they usually do hehe) there's less chinese people so there's less to choose from, so NATURALLY HK would have a strong rep, afterall they have like the whole HK population to choose from.

yea if you didnt see i did mention china too!
Plus being miss hk has alot more prizes and other incentives than for example miss melbourne or toronto, bigger prizes like acting contracts, money, gifts etc. These are all really important in attracting better quality and MORE candidates because more incentive gets more people to actually be willing to sacrifice months of their lives for training and stuff.

But TVb always promote MHK in acting only No. TVB promotes MCI winners too. Like Linda chung and Bernice Liu. In fact, the two of them are so heavily promoted by TVB. Much more than MHK. |
