Yes i agree. Beauty pageant is not about being cute. A mature and ellegant woman is what the judges are looking for. Looking at the history of MCI, there hasn't been a winner who is just cute. Most of them are classy women who are good role models for the chinese all over the world.

Phillipines
But being a Vancouverian myself, I'm still rooting for Vancouver also

i think toronto is average. she's cute..but not like SUPER cute...but i think crystal has a much better chance than her. Crystal has a stronger academic background than elva and elva is back a grade..she should technically be in university. a MCI winner should not only be beautiful, but i think, they should also have a academic background..like montreal..she is a music prodigee and lots of other reprsentative are very smart as well. elva just doesnt seem to have it in that category. granted, she is awesome in everything else. so who knows? =)

According to the pics at www.misshkbeauties.com/, I think the followings are the most elegant and pretty ones (with a winner look!). <btw, I am not a Canadian> ;D Ms. Montreal -- Vicki  Ms. Philippines -- Royce Ms. Johannesburg --Ina Ms. Toronto --Elva cute (& tall) Ms Vancouver Never like Ms. HK since MHK, especially her figure, just tall. Unfortunately, there are not many tall girls in MCI this year.  |

I think Bunny and Random1 are right. One of the most beautiful, intelligent and photogenic is Ms. Montreal. She is pretty, tall, talented, musician... She just got all the chances. Just check her 2 other photos here: www.xanga.com/chickenbuns Go about 1/3 down the page. For sure it will depend on judges and on sircumstances, but don't you think she's going to win ? |

Why didn't they say anything about Miss Chinese Montreal arriving to Hong Kong ? She should arrive to HK yesturday evening... The told about Taipei, Sydney, Toronto and Philippines, but didn't say anything about Vicki. There is no interviews of her on the site ? I couldn't

...elva is back a grade..she should technically be in university... i dont kno but couldnt she have turned 18 at the beginning of the academic year? dont people finish HS aged 18? about the interviews, i dont kno precisely how the winners and Rana are in contact but i can guess its either they contact Rana (since misshkbeauties website is really popular not to mention its THE site to visit) or she contacts them via official pageant website/personal website etc. metallhammer, be patient, the HK press will undoubtedly notice vicki since she is a mix. by the way do u kno vicki personally? jus u said u never knew mci existed till now so i was wonderin if its coz u kno her somehow |

i'd say she's smart, if she's not doing well at school and knows her chances of getting into uni were slim and didnt want that to effect her chances later when competing at a pageant, she knows to use her chance now. also mci is the opportunity to get into showbiz, her ambition to become an actress right?
random1, so about graduating, normally does the student have their 18th birthday during their last academic year of HS study which is between 1st september - 31st august the following year?

yup..im from toronto too tho..i know some provinces do it diff.. like montreal. but yeh..im not against her but im just trying to pt out that if something is going to prevent her from being mci winner..then that would be it..in comparison to montreal and vancouver. elva is really talented tho =)
