I AGREE ELVA LOOKS TAIWAN OR KOREAN
I AGREE JESSICA COULD HAVE EASILY WON MISS FRIENDSHIP , I HEARD THEY ALWAYS PICK THE UGLISEST GIRL, WELL AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT THEY DO IN HONG KONG..BUT HER MISS CHARMING AWARD DOESNT' SEEM TO FIT.. I THINK ELLI OR ELVA OR EVEN YA LAN COULD OF GOTTEN IT BEFORE HER!!!!!!! AS FOR THE TOP THREE CONGRADULATIONS, PAGEANTS ARE NOT EASY AS I WAS ONCE IN MCT MYSELF!

Elva speaks perfect mandarin..I would assume she's TW or from China.
I think she looks taiwanese more than korean.

For example, Bernice Liu, Shirley Zhou, Linda Chung, Leanne Li. ALL FOUR OF THEM WON MCI. so i would watch your mouth next time. and If u want more examples couple of the past Miss Hong Kong are from Vancouver as well. Virginia Yung, Anne Heung, Rabee'a Yeung (first runner up).. so please something so offensive about vancouver girls. Cuz if have been to vancouver it is known to have a lot of pretty girls |

Hey keiko,
You miss out Vivian Lau (MHK 2000 WINNER) and Sonija Kwok (MHK 1999 WINNER) are also from VANCOUVER!!!!! For FOUR consecutive years, girls from Van had won the MHK crown.
Also, Crystal Pang (MCV 1999) won 2nd RU in MCI 2000. This start up the history of Van's victories in MCI. Annie Wang (MCV 2002?) is the only one that went home empty handed. And I noticed that in the recuiting posters (MCV) for these 2 yrs, Fairchild had left out her foto/ name. By just placing the fotos of Benice/Shirley/Linda/Leanne, this mislead ppl to think that Van had won for 4 years continuously.....
How cruel is reality. Any of u still remember Annie?

Hmmm... My parents and my friend's parents and many of the older generations think that Elva is lets just say... not pretty! They were really shocked and dissapointed when she was declared the winner!

yes, Elva's styles only appeal to younger generation, people of her age. To older generation, she doesn't look classy at all.

Yeah is cute, maybe pretty but not stunning... i think her talent saved her ! A lot of people i know dont' think Elva is good looking ..but her make up looked the best that day

i went to the oriental center today and i saw the girls in person.. they are all beautiful but i think that #10 elli was gorgeouse.. she has a certain charm to her that the other girls seem not to have. and yes i agree Elvas talent was really good:)

hahaha... yep... a lot of girls that won were from Vancouver... well consecutive MHK winners were from Vancouver... Virginia Yung (MHK 1997 Winner) and Vivian Lee (MHK 1997 2nd-runner up) Anne Heung (MHK 1998), Sonjia Kwok(MHK 1999 winner), Myolie Wu (MHK 1999 3rd-runner up), Vivian Lau (MHK 2000) were all from Vancouver...
and then there's all these MCIs that were from Vancouver... so you can't diss them... I'm from Vancouver too... lol... =P but I don't like this year's MCV, she looks too old... this year's MCT looks more pretty than our MCV
