Mr. Hong Kong 2016 final predictions

Glad to see the contest back on air! May the best contestant win!

It's quite hard to predict this year as there is no overwhelming favorite to win (unlike 2010 for example). Any contestant can come out and win the title. After much consideration, my picks are as follows:

Winner: #9 Karl
He looks more and more handsome as the contest progresses. I think he is the one to beat tonight.

First runner up: #7 Christian
He was initially the favorite and his talent will win a lot of points. I can see him taking Mr. Photogenic and first place but he doesn't look as sharp as he was in Toronto.

Second runner up: #3 Flow
I was a little reluctant to choose him because of his negative image. He does have the best body though and is the big favorite to win so not including him will be a big risk.

Fourth place: #5 Wu
I didn't think I will choose him. I think he is not the best looking but we all know there are politics at TVB right? He is the brother of Mr. Hong Kong 2008 first runner up and was initially eliminated but then came back after a contract dispute got resolved.

Mr. Photogenic: #9 Karl

Other already announced awards:
Mr. Friendship: #7 Christian
Audience favorite award: #9 Karl
Best Live Performance: #1 Freeyon

Other placements:
I can totally see #1 Freeyon, #2, #4 making the top 4. Too bad there isn't a top 5 this year. I can see any of these three making the top 4 over number #5 Wu.

Yesterday was such a fun show to watch!! I thought it ran smoothly and was very funny. But.. They lacked a swimsuit presentation and it seems like TVB is not looking into bodies this year. This is definitely to the advantage of the younger contestants as their bodies are not too good. Honestly, if they competed during 205-2011, I don't think they will receive a lot of votes. They emphasized the body so much back in the days.

I am glad though they didn't look into the bodies that much. If they did, my favorite, Karl will most likely lose points. I think he has the face of the contest though. What a great transformation since competing in the Toronto project (forgot the name) contest (the first overseas preliminary contest for Mr. Hong Kong). Karl had a bang back then but after receiving TVB styling, he looks a lot more handsome. The Baidu fans think so too and many of them have him as the big favorite to win!!!

It's great that you can get noticed even if you are young or don't necessarily have the best body. Mr. Hong Kong can be any shape or size.

Karl already won Mr. Photogenic and is on track to win. I guess we're see him on TVB dramas now haha. Great decision he made to go back to Hong Kong to compete.

His biggest competitor will be number 4. Jackson really wowed me. I had him in my top 4 before but took him out because I thought his talent and age weren't that good. But, he sure gave a good speech! Well deserved inclusion.

I was shocked.. SHOCKED that number 7 Christian got eliminated. He may have lost points on his body and maybe the skit.. But, his talent was really good. No idea why he didn't make it over.. Say number 5?? I expected number 5 to make it and put him in but.. I don't think he has the handsome looks. Christian looks more handsome.

Freeyon was also one of my suspects. I put him in but then took him out. I guess I should've left out number 3 Flow. I had a feeling he may get unplaced but.. He has the best body and is the big favorite. I guess TVB didn't want him. He is the oldest contestant by the way.. And some say he looks like a duck...

Out of the top 4, my final ranking is:
9, 4, 5, 1

I can totally see Freeyon making top 3 and 4 winning over 9 though. We will see how the TVBFun viewers vote!
