I think many have heard of the Macau Pedruco sisters. There are 4 in total. Three of them went on to represent Macau at MCI. Now I just found out that the same three sisters also won the regional Miss Macau World titles, and represented Macau at Miss World! Wow! That's quite a legend. It's very hard to win their local title and 3 manage to do it and even represented Macau at 2 international pageants! I've decided to write a article on Wikipedia about the sisters. It will be called: The Pedruco Sisters. If any of you have information regarding the 4th sister (who did not place at any pageants), links about them, information that I am missing, etc., please post it here or e-mail it to me. Thank you very much .

Didn't all the Pedruco sisters win the regional Miss Macau pageant That is at least what I remember. All of them have represented Macau at the Miss World pageant in the past: Guillemina Madeira da Silva Pedruco (eldest sister) in 1989; Isabela Madeira da Silva Pedruco in 1993; Geraldina Madeira da Silva Pedruco (2nd eldest)in 1995 and Guiomar Madeira da Silva Pedruco (youngest sister)in 1996. (I've found this information at Wikipedia). I don't understand why Isabela didn't represent Macau in MCI if she won the Miss Macau pageant. I remember an interview with three of the four Pedruco sisters on TV which was held by TVB years ago, all of them had the crown on their head and the scepter in their hand (at that time the youngest Pedruco sister hasn't won the Miss Macau title yet).

Thanks a lot! So all of the sisters took part in the pageant as they had a dream of some sort? Or did anything influence them. Okay, so Isabela is the second sister. Why didn't she represent Macau at MCI 1993? Also is the Miss Macau pageant a preliminary to both Miss Chinese International and Miss World? Or did the sisters win 2 local Macau titles?

Note: Isabela is the second sister who's won the Miss Macau title, but she's not the second eldest.

One more thing, if Isabela won the Miss Macau pageant, which is in 1993, she should represent Macau at MCI in 1994, not 1993. Just like MHK.

Accoring to MSHK Beauties, MCI 1994's Macau representive is Chan King Mak. Misspuipui, didn't you say that TVB had an interview with the 3 sisters. Which three are them? Any details on the interview? Also, if all 3 were interviewed and had a crown and sceptor, that means that Isabela did won the Miss Macau pageant. If she did, why didn't she compete at MCI 1994 or any MCI pageant?

TVB had an interview with Guillemina (•L”ü›P , Miss Macau 1989), Geraldina (•L‰Ã› , Miss Macau 1995) and Isabela (•L‰Ã—í , Miss Macau 1993), but I don't have any more details on that, cause that interview was too long ago (definitely 10 years ago), sorry . It was shown in one of those TVB showbiz programm, if I remembered it right. Can't remember the title of it. But I've found this link that proves my statement: zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%BE%B3%E9%96%80%E5%B0%8F%E5%A7%90_(%E9%81%B8%E7%BE%8E)It's in Chinese, I hope you can read it. Beside I have to note that there is a fault in it, the Chinese names of Miss Macau 1993 and 1995 are switched. According to this link, Geraldina won Miss Macau in 1993. That's not true, she won it in 1995 and then competed at MCI in 1996. I'll send you some pics to prove it. Indeed, why didn't Isabela compete at MCI 1994 or any MCI pageant? I don't know either. I've compared the names of Macau's representatives at MCI and at Miss World, most of them matched. I think the organization of Miss Macau has the choice or right to chose their representative, but this is just my guess.

BTW, Guillemina Madeira da Silva Pedruco, the eldest one, was 2nd runner-up at MCI in 1989. We could say she is the most successful Pedruco sister, cause the other three didn't manage to place at any pageants or win any awards. However, Guiomar Madeira da Silva Pedruco managed to get into the top 5 at MCI in 1997.

Thank you very much for the article. I read it and I loved it. Their the family of sisters to win the same beauty pageant. Though in the history of pageants. many sisters have won the same pageant (like Miss Hawaii USA in 2003 and 2004) and also Miss Mauritius (in MU 2005 and 2006). Though Miss Macau is easy to win since the citizens there don't have interest to join but still they are the only family to win the Miss Macau pageant and even compete at MCI and MW. Just read in the article that the oldest sister's child died on March 2004. Poor boy.

Hi guys,
Just read the bit on the Pedruco sisters on wiki. It says that their family is Portuguese but natives of Macau but the girls are somewhat Chinese, right? Also, is the youngest sister an athlete because the article says she's affiliated with some Asian Athletic Association.
