Just wondering, anyone has any idea whether when will TVB start contacting applicants who are shortlisted to the interview?? My friend submitted the form and even though the closing date is today; 30th April, could it be possible that for those who submitted the form earlier, they will be contacted even before the closing date? Anyone has any idea?

no she did not. she is actually staying overseas. and this year's closing date and the first round of interviews is only a few days apart. im thinking this year tvb did not contact overseas applicants who register via the local registration dates as compared to last year. as personally, i will think and feel that my friend deserved to be at least shortlisted to the interviews even if eventually she did not get into the finals. oh well.. i don't know. just a guess.

Would it be wrong to call TVB (fairchild) to ask whether the overseas contestants have been chosen?

Lorretta Chow, one of this year's top 24 she won the new talent singer competition vancouver and she would be working for Fairchild tv in vancouver. I thought since fairchild is affiliated with TVB, the fairchild "contracted" singers/employees would not be allowed to be apart of any TVB stuff, especially competitions/pageants.

Perhaps Lorretta was only bounded by the contract for a year.

Louella you have to at least live in HK at for 2 years I think? A similar case of you is Amanda Boll (MSHK 2002 #5) who is also from Melbourne. However after one year (from MCI 2001 to 2002), she was accepted in the top 20 of MSHK. As for your auntie, it doesn't help much. Only if your parents were born in HK or is a citizen of HK, you can get a HK ID Card. To be a citizen you have to live at least 2 years and to be a permenant citizen (live there forever), you have to stay in HK for 7 years.
