Depending on how old you are... have you considered joining Miss Teen Chinatown Charity Gala? It's pretty low key.. they do give training and it's a smaller pageant. It's organized by the SF Lion's Club and it's their annual event. If you want more info on it, I can help you out with it.
The most "famous" Miss Teen Chinatowns - Coco Lee (the singer... who sang the theme song of "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" ) and Gwendeline Yeo (she played "Xiao Mei" in Desperate Housewives recently)

Check out this website for more information: www.missteencharityfundraiser.org/They haven't updated the site in a while though... but at least it has contacts on it for you and you can read about the history, look at the winners (1991- Coco Lee, 1994- Gwendeline Yeo, 1996- Louisa Luk (who won Miss Chinese International in 1998, 2001- Louise Wu (Miss Chinatown USA 2006.. just represented SF in MCI). etc... This is going to be the 41st Annual Charity Fundraiser.. it's usually held in April, so contestants have already been chosen for this year. Requirements: 1. Your age must be from 14 to 18 on the date of event 2. Be of Chinese descent and be able to write your own name in Chinese characters. 3. Be a full-time student from an accredited high school. 4. Good academic standing in school with a minimum final GPA of 3.00 for prior school year. 5. Attach copy of your recent photo and final report card with GPA for prior school year to Application. 6. Return completed application form with ALL required attachments 7. Willing to participate in training sessions, rehearsals and other required meetings or events. |

She's quite pretty, I used to like her song "Di Dah Di". |

I absolutely loved the Miss Sing Tao pageant, it was a lovely experience for me, I had so much fun and for $10 they provide you with everything you need !!! Every girl should try it, it's an amazing organization that helps the community so much. ;D
