Before the clip is posted up on YouTube! I can translate it for those interested for the time being...
They started off playing the crowning clips of Ina and Ivy and then started the interview. "Ina was crowned Miss Chinese International 2006" and younger sister Ivy is the 1st RU in this year's Miss Chinese International 2007. Prior to this, the two actually competed against each other on the same stage in a pageant!
Interviewer: Why did you two decide to join/participate in pageants? How did it come to be that you two ended up competing against each other?
Ivy: There hasn't been a Miss Chinese Johannesburg (direct translation might be a bit off.. ) for over 10 years. When I found out that they were going to hold the pageant I thought it would be a special and unique experience to participate in an Asian pageant in South Africa. It would also be a great personal experience to participate in such a unique function. So I found my sister Ina to join along with me.
Ina: I think that one starts to "prepare" for pageants when they're young. Every day is a "result" of your preparation. It's about experiencing and relishing in your daily "results" and not about just the day of the pageant a placement of first, second or third.
Interviewer: Both are experienced in the pageant field so the talent portion was no challenge to them. They both chose to perform sign language along with a song as their talent!
Ivy: Ina and I both joined an organization together that taught sign language as part of a cultural activity. We would use it a lot and perform for orphanages and senior citizens.
Ina: I performed sign language as my talent last year and Ivy did also this year. However, people say that our two performances have a different feel to them. It may be due to the reason that when I was young, I learned Chinese Folk Dance. So my performance had a hint of/flavor of Chinese Folk Dance incorporated into it. Ivy has a more modern, sweet, soft, "flowy" feel to it.
Interviewer: Besides having her older sister Ina to help her throughout the process. Ivy has also met a great group of friends through the pageant. In particular, she was really close to Aimee Chan of Hong Kong.
Ivy: I was the closest to this year's MHK Aimee. She is a really sweet girl. Also, she has more experience than I do, so when I was nervous or at times didn't know what to do or how to perform. She would motivate me and help me out. She is really sweet!
Ina: I really want to meet Aimee too. Hearing from Ivy how Aimee has helped her out throughout the pageant and how sweet she is, I'd really like a chance to meet her in person and thank her for taking care of my sister throughout the pageant!

Though Aimee did not win any title in MCI 2007, she had won the true friendship and hearts of the fellow contestants.

Thank you Apriltears for the translation! It was great to read those nice comments about MHK's Aimee. I really felt bad for her as she had alot of pressure on her to perform well at MCI.
