On the profiles section, Yvonne is reported to speak English only. That's not good... TVB usually selects winners that speak at least Mandarin or Cantonese. Very few winners (like only 2) manage to win without speaking any Chinese. Not good...

omg, why do you always say that, last year's winner Ina Liu didn't even speak Cantonese to win. I really don't get your point.

I said stand an advantage, doest not mean be winner!!!
As can see the MC Eric Tsiang keep asking question on Cantonese, so if can speak cantonese, is better

I think Ms Calgary stand a good chance to win as much as the delegates. Since the judges are here already, the delegates have been closely monitored throughout for their communication skills.
But looking at Ms Calgary, (I don't know why) she looks like a ABK or american-born korean. Even though she speaks english only it doesn't matter that much, she can always appear as a cameo in movies just like Maggie Q did in movies like MI:III
But Eric Tsang will have a problem speaking to her as usual with all the tall pretty girls standing over his short petite frame, and he will rely on his MC partner. Beware of Eric's roving eyes on pretty girls, I think he has a say in the judges rating too... (IMO)

I think he has a say in the judges rating too... (IMO) Not always. Remember in 2001, Eric Tsang publicly exclaimed that he didn't think Miss Hong Kong would place and she did in the end. Last year, Eric Tsang thought Miss Vancouver would be in top 3 but she only made top 5.

Eric Tsang will help MHK , remember las yr MCI, he said "Local MHK" is better, twice saying that, one is talent, one is answering question, he is trying to help MHK get top 5, but too bad, TVB already allow MHK get an additional awards

Eric Tsang says stuff like that every year about Miss Hong Kong but it doesn't always have any effect on the outcome. In fact, every time he says something like, "Oh its our very own HK rep. Give her an easy question", he's always automaticaly criticized by his co-MC. Just imagine if he publicly says something like that and the outcome is affected, that would create a HUGE controversy and reflect very very badly on the show. TVB would never ever risk their reputation like that. I think another alias is in the room.

(IMO) Just to clear the air, Yvonne is chinese CANADIAN, her grandfather is of french and russian descent and her dad has kept the Chapman name. I totally agree with neromanticx in that Calgary has a high probability of winning. If you all remember Bernice Liu, she hardly spoke any cantonese but won and is now a famous actress. Her cantonese and acting has improved over the years.

And yes,I agree chatterbox I smell another alias in the room... tsk tsk...
