I just watched half of mcv but left my friend's house as I had a few projects to attend to. - overall: we sure got the 'dancing' theme alright  - stage was huge! however, they kept playing w/ the lights to cover the fact that the space was practically empty. - swimsuits: would be better w/o the 'wings' - all the girls were obviously well trained in catwalk, etc. the one who stood out was #1 lora (confident & poised). #10 wasn't bad either. - the gestures used by the contestants during SS was a bit too much & the sunshine boys kept checking the girls out  - lmao moment: the 'flower' lady who walked across the stage/camera & down the steps... ^^ she came out of nowhere & imho interrupted the dancng that was going on behind her. - i stopped watching after watch 1,8,9 10 performed the spanish dances. - qi pao: GORGEOUS the best i've ever seen! |

you are all fools...nothing is for certain, just cause they look good in pictures doesn't mean they will win, on that night, crystal outshone lora, plain and simple. The profile pictures for crystal doesn't do her justice, and the profile picture for lora romanticized her...end of discussion r u a fool? ur just blind, didnt u see Lora's dance?!?! didnt u see her in her swim suit? didnt u see how wisely she answered her question? too bad,ur such a fool |

Oh darn, I missed MCV on Sunday. Anyone know when there's going to be another broadcast? I just saw the MCT review though. The badminton dance number was amusing. Its re-runned on X'mas afternoon on fairchild tv |

Well maybe that's why Lora didn't win...too confident! But I never thought #10 would ever win from the beginning...her pic looked very masculine on the posters. Just wondering from this site, I guess from USA pagaent www.icmimage.com/2002missteen1.htmI found Jessica Xu and is that Angela Quon from Miss Vancouver? YUPP that is Angela Quon from Miss Vancouver. She entered that pageant after she was crowned Miss Oriental Teen Covergirl. What kind of a pagaent was that? Isn't it some American thing? Angela's a Canadian? |

YUPP that is Angela Quon from Miss Vancouver. She entered that pageant after she was crowned Miss Oriental Teen Covergirl. What kind of a pagaent was that? Isn't it some American thing? Angela's a Canadian? The pageant was held in LA. I think they took canadians as contestants too but Angela went beacuse she won Miss Teen Oriental Cover Girl, and it was in deal that if you won, you represent Miss Teen Oriental into this LA pageant. |

I'm also shocked with the results to the MCV as well. I thought that Lora would be crowned the winner. She certainly had the looks of one. Crystal looks alright, but she doesn't stand out like Lora.
Hmm...it's interesting to note that the MCT winner is 18 years of age (same age as Lora). I guess in Toronto they're not picky about crowning an 18 year old.
I also think that Vancouver's chance of winning the MCI 2006 crown is slim to nil...maybe they would have had a larger chance to win if Lora was crowned? Who knows....I really hope that Vancouver can win the MCI 2006 crown. That really would be something to win it for 5 years.
Anyways, congratulations to Crystal for winning the MCV crown to Lora and Fiti for winning the 1st and 2nd runner up crowns. I wish Crystal luck in the MCI competition.

The (good?) thing about this is that I really think Toronto will outshine Vancouver at Miss Chinese International this year.. lol about time! From the performance, Lora really looked the most well rounded girl, but anyway, I'm not done watching the show (it's on right now) so I have yet to see Lora's reaction. Sounds pretty bad though.. But I agree with the majority of the people here, even if Lora didn't win.. who thought it was going to be Crystal?! They were all exaggerating...She didn't stand there forever looking blank Yeah I watched the end, it was totaly exagerrated, but you could still see that at one point, her smile was a bit unwilling. |

Indeed, Crystal won the crown, no one is denying that fact. The question here is, why did Crystal win? It certainly isn't about standing out in front of the other contestants. |

Why are all of you arguing over this?? The result is out, not like anythiing you do right now will change the outcome.......Crystal WON plain and simple, if you chose to believe she rigged it, that's fine, if you don't that's fine too, because no one will know for sure unless ur the contestant or the organizers. Anyhow we will have to see how Crystal do in HK, but I was wondering how come Vancouver pageants doesn't have a "talent segment" like Toronto pageants? But I felt this year Toronto's show was had a very good storyline, I really enjoyed watching the opening, where as Vancouver's I almost passed out on the couch.  Anyways I prefer Crystal winning, I felt Lora's profile picture was amazing but when i saw her on stage I was a little shocked at how different she looked from her picture *eyes look bigger on picture then real life*. Overall Crystal had a very mature and elegant presence on stage and a confident not thingyy look. Too bad #9 didn't do that well, I thought she might had a chance. |

As for Crystal, she didn't really stand out, pretty average. I think someone mentionned this before, it might have been her very mature look that help her gain points. What I don't understand is, why did she stop smiling when Leanne presented her with flowers??? And why didn't she wave to the audience?

Hmm...I'm also still stumped about how come Crystal won over Lora. I think that maybe in the judges eyes (not some of the viewers), that Crystal outshone Lora not in looks per se, but in her performance or something. Lora outshines Crystal in looks no doubt.
At least the whole MCV contest went pretty smoothly. If I recall correctly, the MCT contest had a couple of minor mishaps here and there. |
