Seems like the interest in pageants has decreased... this forum is quite quiet, while USB is VERY crowded. But, I still want to share my Miss USA 2010 predictions here. I also posted my predictions on my site, Pageant Beauties. UNFORTUNATELY, it is very hard to write there, since it doesn't allow copy/pasting... I can't update as much, since I need to type the news WORD BY WORD...

My final thoughts:
Surprise preliminaries standouts: Alaska, New Jersey, GEORGIA, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Tennessee (redeemed herself)

Miss USA 2010 Top 15 Predictions List: Nebraska, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Michigan, Virginia, Oklahoma, Maine, Wisconsin, California, Massachusetts, Washington, and Wyoming
Surprises/darkhorses (16th to 26th place): Vermont, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Ohio, New Jersey, and New York
Winner: Nebraska 1st runner up: Virginia 2nd runner up: Oklahoma 3rd runner up: California 4th runner up: Michigan
Top 5: Michigan, Oklahoma, Virginia, Nebraska, and California
Top 10 Finalists: Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Massachusetts
Top 15 Semifinalists: Washington, Maine, Georgia, Wyoming, and Oregon
Special Awards: Miss Photogenic: Oklahoma Miss Congeniality: Michigan, New York, or Nebraska
Best In Swimsuit: Nebraska Best In Evening Gown: Virginia
Watch out for Tennessee, her gown presentation was one of the best! Michigan might also place higher if she has a great interview. She has the personality already. I am equally as happy (maybe more happy) if Virginia wins.
This year’s competition is very intense. There are no major standouts and any state can win the crown, depending on their performance. Nebraska has one of the best faces in the pageant. Her swimsuit performance was fabulous and the only thing keeping her out of the top 5 is her gown. Her father’s death will certainly help her, but may also allow her to win since it would generate headlines/publicity. HOWEVER, the MUO may not play sympathy and might exclude her entirely, who knows?
Virginia isn’t on many people’s lists which is surprising. She looks beautiful, but I cannot admit her preliminary performance was lackluster. She was “very safe.” I expect her to work it though on Sunday, and come very close to winning the title. I would be equally as happy though if she wins Miss USA.
Oklahoma, Morgan W… Many have her as a favorite, the one to beat, Miss Universe material. I just don’t see it in the face though… her preliminary performance was also lackluster. But, does it mean she can’t make it? No, I think she will make the cut. But, don’t be surprised if she wins the Ruth award in the end.
California has great interview skills. Not one of the prettiest delegates, but many favor her. She is the top favorite of the betting agencies and I think she will make it.
My last pick in the top 5 is Michigan. She may not be the most stunning, but she has great stage presence. On Tuesday, she was the most confident delegate on stage.
Tennessee absolutely redeemed herself on Tuesday. She worked it on stage and had one of the best gown presentations. It would not surprise me if she makes the top 5, since her gown presentation MAY score in the top 5.
Texas is one of the most talked delegates. She is tall, but again lack some spark. I think she will finish in 7th place.
Wisconsin… another risky choice. She is pretty and exotic. Her preliminary performance was good, expect her to do well.
Connecticut was one of the most confident delegates last Tuesday. Her swimsuit performance will allow her to make the top 10, but her gown selection may leave her in 9th place.
Massachusetts also performed well on Tuesday. I think she will make the cut and finish 10th.
Completing the top 15 are Washington, Maine, Georgia, Wyoming, and Oregon. Washington and Maine are very tall and I have a feeling Mr. Trump will pick them (although it’s unlikely that three of the tallest delegates will make the top 15). Georgia really shined in the preliminaries. She looked great and performed well. Wyoming… many have her in the top 5, even winning. She looks great and I wouldn’t be surprised if she made it further. But, I put her in 14th place. Lastly is Oregon. Her hairstyle in the preliminaries was terrible… she will not make the top 15 based on her preliminary performance. HOWEVER, she may have been chosen by Mr. Trump as one of the six, remember Idaho in 2008? There will be surprises on Sunday, so why not?
Next, the eleven delegates in the darkhorses’ list are all capable of making the cut. They either performed well in the preliminaries, on the lists of pageant fans, or are discussed largely on forums.

Just switched Colorado for Minnesota. I think Mr. Trump will pick her...

Miss USA 2010 - Michigan
I had her as 3rd runner up after the final question. Many guests, including judge Paula Deen, performers, and the girl who went to Vegas (sorry, forget her name) chose Oklahoma. But Rima has the exotic look and I did have her as 4th runner up.
I hope she does well at Miss Universe. I think she will place in the top 10, but anything happen...
Oklahoma - 1st runner up
I guess the spell continues. Oklahoma has never won the crown although they have placed as runner ups many times. After the final question, I thought Morgan had it in the bag. But, I had her as 2nd runner up, and so I expected her into the top 5.
Virginia - 2nd runner up
I truly liked this girl! So happy she made it and showed fans that she has pageant material! I had her as 1st runner up, but happy she finished 2nd runner up. Hope she goes on to Miss America!
As for Misses Colorado and Maine, both of them had high scores, but like I thought, they ended up like Lindsey and Lauren in 2008... 3rd and 4th runner ups. Nevertheless, they did well. I shouldn't have replaced Colorado for Minnesota...
Nebraska and Wyoming should of advanced... No idea how Nebraska scored so low...
Overall the top 15 was good, with no big surprises. The biggest surprise was Texas not making though. Texas usually makes it. However, I did feel she might be unplaced. She receives the Ruth award now.
