well, my opinion is that HK did not deserve 1st runner up, her singing talent was bad, it was pitchy and lacked techniques and she is a bit short. I personally find Vancouver a great potential for being a celebrity, she is natural, has a warm smile and most importantly, possesses great stage presence and star quality. She had a very clever answer during Q&A, and i do not agree with Katz saying that Cici complained it was too hard and that's where she lost points. That is not true because Cici didn't "complain" ...she was simply stalling for time so she can think and form a good answer in her head, it was a very good technique, her answer definitely added points, not lose points. Lastly, i agree with organizers making girls introduce themselves in Cantonese, because this pageant chooses girls with potential to develop in HK entertainment and Cantonese is a must or at least you should show potential in speaking cantonese if you are not very fluent right now. If i were the organizer, i would've made the contestants introduce in cantonese too.

New york lost due to her bad attitude.. she is sooo thingyy... speaking english all the time, not modest at all.. and too ABC.... and nobody needs that in chinese entertainment.... she gotta be more mature and realize how she needs to act to make it big and survive in chinese/hk showbiz

I found it very weird that on the website weesa posted with additional photos of the top 3, tubingen only wore black dresses in the different pictures, while the other girls wore many different colored dresses....

Whao ! The result of MCI2009 is =D this year.
But I don't really like #20 Seattle in the top 5.
I think Florence Loi from Macao (#13) could be better.
And the the stage was beautiful and the pageant was good done.
Except littles errors like annoncement of #22 form Sydney (already said) or when they danced before "Miss Talents" (in 00:16:20 minutes) Harbin (#8) was dancing in a different direction (she's in right side).

The stage was beautiful, and the performances kept getting better and better! I loved the 3 different types of dance where they introduced the girls, I loved how the girls get to choose their own swimsuits, I loved how we got to know the girls better etc... I wanted Seattle to place higher, since she has such a beautiful inner personality! Although Skye performed well, Seattle performed better (but facially, Skye looked better)... as many other have pointed out in the forum, I would have liked the results to be Toronto, then Vancouver, then Seattle!
I also agree with Eric Tsang saying that the Hong Kong contestant had an advantage, since 4 of the 5 judges are from Hong Kong. The whole competition was cantonese-based, and clearly, Skye "led the pack" with her fluent cantonese. If Edelweiss was in the competition, I doubt she'd get very far, since it is obvious that her quality is... so so...
Tubingen being in the top 5... how? She had a bad Q&A session and she looked nervous all the time... on the other hand, I though Beijing spoke really well because of her hosting background. I would have had her in my top 5. Auckland seemed a bit too casual at times, and did not give me the "elegent" feeling...
I think Cici originally thought she would become winner, because after the pageant she said "I don't know what I lost out on." I would be happier if Cici got 2nd place instead... >< Overall though, I LOVED the pageant! (Except for the red dressed in the end... they looked so weird! What happened to the traditional qi poas?)
