As someone says earlier in MCT forum, parents of girls from higher SES usually disallow their daughters to attend such competitions for the public to scrutinize, to know thier measurements and such. I somehow felt that Vicki's parents were never supportive of her going into the pageant, that's why they flew to HK to get their daughter out of it before she actually wins. I mean looking at the other delegates, her parents should be very confident vicki will win top 3. Plus if the family has some power, and financial status in the society, they wouldn't want their daughters to take part in such competitions.. i mean it's not like the CHopin competition or the international sibelius competition..if it's such competition, her parents would be 100000% supportive.

If her parents didn't want her in the pageant, they shouldn't of let her participated in the Montreal one. Well, unless the Montreal one didn't need parent approval. I don't know but I do smell something fishy about this.

dude..why she got disqualified is because there were some shady clauses in the contract that made the aventure stop so abruptly. Any one in business, law or with business law experience can see that TVB's contract was a piece of garbage and abusive to the girls participating in the pageant. I don't know how can society tolerate such exploitation of the female form....
if TVB was really serious, they would have made a new contract that didn't include the shady clause of exploitation. Hope that the other participants present and future will not be too naive and blind as to sign their souls to the unknown

btw, her parents never left montreal. they were very supportive of her participating in the pageants (montreal and hk) but were very disappointed in the contract that TVB was trying to pass on them. After the contract being reviewed by lawyers and business associates, it was clear that the contract had major flaws and this is why she is not part of the pageant anymore. TVB reps also didn't really make any effort to improve the situation even if they still have over a week to the pageant. So who's to blame? I highly doubt it's the parents or the participants..I think the system or the companies who want to profiteer from the contestants are to blame..they are the ones who stands to lose the most.

I was present for the Montreal Pageant. What a lovely creature. There is something fishy and/or malicious behind all this to make her pull out. Majority of Chinese girls have confidence in what they do Its sad to say that it's a waste, she would have won this contest, without discriminating the other participants. I understand your disappointment,Vicky but Miss Canada Pageant contest will welcome you heartily. Go for Miss Univers 2007 and show that you have dignity and perseverance.

I'm so mad at people that say that her parents werent supportive. They were with her with all their hearts, thats actually why they went to hk to see their daughter, they were so proud... meanwhile, there was something fishy in the contract and tvb never seemed to like vicki. I think they just tried to kick her off because she was more popular than miss hk. This is really sad. Vicki was by far the best constestant. Not just because I know her but also because she has something human and natural in her eyes, compared to the other... Sorry for this... stupid situation... hope that there will be none of this in the future...

If its about the risk in the contract, Vicki is better off without it anyways. Hong Kong is only a small part of the Entertainment World.
She's only 17 and I think she's got enough talent in her to go BIG in Canada or the U.S.!!!
When your big in the U.S, your BIG EVERYWHERE!!
Go VICKI!!!

Hi everybody. Guess who's here, hehe. Vicki is back home now. She's very disappointed in HK's intertainment. TVB didn't even listen what she had to say and NEVER, I repeat NEVER answered her parents' questions and changes to be made in that crapy, as you say, contract. They just suck ! No big company who is interested in making business would allow this to happen. The contract is ONE-SIDED. She didn't have any rights or liberties. So when the contract is one-sided (only company rights are discussed), it's not a contract of work, but of slavery. I just don't understand people like this. It's an International pageant, so what are the reasons to make contracts so secret and so crapy ? For sure, there is a lot of money going through the hands of organisers of the pageant, so maybe that's why... Anyway, everything is OK now. My darling is back home, so we'll see what life will bring next. For now - school, studies, music, orchestras and NORMAL life without any restrictions. Thanks for everyone being present and supporting Vicki. We wish you all the best and let's see who will win now !

Vicki was by far the best constestant. Not just because I know her but also because she has something human and natural in her eyes, compared to the other... what is that supposed to mean? you can hype or say anything about your dear friend or whatever and i won't give a sh.. but there's no need to bash other contestants. i agree she's pretty and all but i reckon you've gone too far by saying that kind of thing. with all do respect!

i think you can only say that if you meet ALL the others in MCI. i really dont agree with you on this one.... a lot of others in the mci this really have beautiful heart..not just vicki. if you know her in person... just ask if this is right or not... Vicki was by far the best constestant. Not just because I know her but also because she has something human and natural in her eyes, compared to the other...

fun for who? I am sure the other girls will have all the chance and opportunities in the world to make it in such a shallow industry where exploitation, drugs, fame and some fortune. I still believe that you can have all of that without being exploited like a slave.
and to quote you..you say it's "suppose" so that means you, yourself, isn't even sure.
Vicki was not the only contestant but she was the one that didn't sign blind to such a contract.
so good luck to the other girls and hope that they don't get exploited in all the glamour and smoke screens.

Hey, her parents did sign the paper, but TVB never received it. That's why she decided to return home.
