Is it just me.. or is Vancouver looking less sharp for MCI? In both event pictures and official profiles.. she just seemed to have lost her "spark" that she had for MCV MCI MCV MCI MCV After she won miss vancouver.. I was so sure she would definately place in MCI.. (bring back the 5th crown for Vancouver!) but I'm not so sure now? BUT SHE STILL HAS SUCH A GOOD FIGURE!

Yeah I agree! Susana has a reallyyy good figure and height. In the press conference and picture fee posted, she seems to have a natural pose that brings out the best in her figure. I never really liked her profile picture in MCV though.

I understand the pressure, I really wish her the very best =)
However, Crystal Li seemed to have stood out at MCI much more than MCV! (perhaps she wanted to prove to those who didn't like her win wrong!)

maybe it's the darker lighting in the pictures? Either way, she does have an amazing figure and she knows how to pose well to show her lines~ Since there wasn't a review posted on MCV 2006, did anybody actually watch it? Was she in a league of her own?? How did she perform? And what was her Q&A? She does have some big shoes to fill.. but either way, as long as she does her best and performs to the best of her abilities then that's all we can ask for!
Regarding fee's post. I agree, I didn't like Crystal initially when she won the title last year. I thought Lora should've won, but it was all down to the judge's preference at the end of the night. However, I was amazed with her performance at MCI. She was calm, poised, elegant and handled herself/ the pressure really well. I was shocked she didn't place higher! (Even Eric Tsang said the same thing!) Either way, best of luck to Susana this Saturday!

I thought Crystal was ripped off, but Susana didn't really shine in MCV06 but she was definaitely really calm and had one of the best interviews (MCV06 results are actually mostly based on the q & a).

(Even Eric Tsang said the same thing!) Either way, best of luck to Susana this Saturday! IMHO, Susana didn't particularly stand out during MCV. Though her answer in the Q&A portion was pretty well-spoken. Her question was something along the lines of: "There are a lot of existing issues in this world that needs immediate attention. What issue would you tackle/change and why?" Susana's Answer: Something about the need to bring love back into everyone's hearts as that is the sole solution to everything else. Such that having love/consideration, one would not pollute, not go to war, help others, etc. I can't remember the full details but it was a good answer that summed up every issue issue worthy of discussing. My friend in the pageant thought it was a "world peace" type of question. hahahaha... Last year's Q&A segment was very neat as it was the contestants who made up the questions! I also agree with Apriltears that it may just be the poor lighting in her official photo. Looking at her Vancouver photos, you'd see that there are evidently A LOT of lights shining on her! I think she looked great in that picture but seriously, no one can look bad with that much lighting. In contrast, the MCI photos seem to have been taken in a dark little corner of a room.

Hi everyone! I think she looks quite lovely in the first MCI profile shot that you posted. The big difference between the mci shots this year and the vancouver profile shots (and also previous years' mci profile shots) is that the mci ones have more elements of fashion photography, whereas the regional ones are very plain portrait/chinese studio-type shots. I personally prefer fashion photography much more; it highlights the subject and the subtle interplay of lighting makes the photo much more interesting and softer too, unlike the harsh photos of regional contests. It also brings out lines and angles better too.
Something I've noticed about Susanna in those photos is that her smile doesn't appear very enthusiastic. Now that may very well be due to the fact that the girls have to smile for so long that their face muscles start spasming (!) but that decreases the energy levels in her photos a lot. It also doesnt seem to suit fashion-y photos, as it's more about presence and personality. She'd look better if she smiled more naturally/enthusiastically or not smile at all like the other girls.
Also fee, where did you get these photos?

Rain, if you click on any profile at the official website, there's a little button at the bottom of the profile picture that will lead you to additional photos.

Yeah that first picture would be considered average at best, while the second one is so nice. I guses she's one of those people who can take either awesome pictures or very blah pictures.
